Acorn Fire & Security are one of the leading experts in fire alarm systems and test equipment, offering a comprehensive range of over 3500 products for the fire and security industry, with everything from gas detection and emergency lighting to fire extinguishers and much more.
With an extensive knowledge, the company is proud of their employees and the customer service they provide.
But one part of the system was letting them down, a clunky, outdated website. To complement their service, Acorn were not just looking for an aesthetically pleasing website, but one that offers efficient payment functionality to convert visitors into sales and set the business apart from its competitors.
Building the site on OpenCart platform has given the team the adaptability to make changes to the website at the drop of a hat, so as the industry dynamically evolves so can their business.
Using Sage Pay to enable card payments has relieved the business of handling out-dated cheques and forms. The number of orders coming in grew rapidly but the admin side of sales has remained manageable via the My Sage Pay admin area, which has helped staff workload.
Previously having to deal with inefficient and antiquated payment types such as cheque, the customer experience simply didn’t match that in-store.
Working with Sage Pay partners Bespoke | Digital Agency, Acorn launched their brand new site in November 2012.
Immediately seeing a difference in terms of customer experience and satisfaction not just through online payment facility but also mobile responsive pages and a bespoke CMS (content management system), the new website recorded results of a 20% increase in web traffic and a 545% increase in revenue
